John Lackey is a Major League Baseball starting pitcher for Boston Red Sox (Photos below). He was born on October 23, 1978 in Abilene Texas. The first spring training with the Red Sox is going according to plan.
“We don’t need to get in his way,” manager Terry Francona said. “He knows what he’s doing.”
The Red Sox apparently have to be very careful in spring training, becasue he had some injuries in recent years. There is always conflict when a veteran pitcher changes teams, just like Randy Johnson when he joined the Yankees. He felt that he didn’t get enough innings in spring training. Not much actions right.
“Another incremental step up in intemsity,” pitching coach John Farrell said. “He knows the meaning of spring training. There’s an internal clock there that you can see a work.”
Francona: “There no need for us to be so stringent, that he has to do it ‘the Red Sox way.’ He’s had a lot of success.”
