Manohara Odelia Pinot – Fairy Tale Without Happy Ending
Manohara Odelia Pinot has been living in a fairy tale, but without a happy ending. She was a young model from Indonesia who married to Malaysian prince Tengku Temenggong Mohammad Fakhry, but then escaped to Indonesia in 2008. Apparently, in 2009 the 17-year-old woman had been raped, tortured and physically abused by her husband. Fakrhy sued her and along with her mother and was awarded $1.8 milion settlement in March 2010. However, Manohara said that she will not pay a penny and want Fakhry to come to Jakarta to claim it.
The fairy tale between Manohara Odelia Pinot and Tengku Temenggong Mohammad Fakhry hasn’t got a happy ending, but rather sad and made many people angry. This story might divides Indonesia and Malaysia in the future. She even developed a documentary style TV show that describe her relationship with the prince, and reportedly got high fees to speak in public.
“This is a freak show in a freak-loving country full of two-headed goats and Islamic hard-liners,” said Wimar Witoelar, who hosts his own TV talk show. “It just shows how people with cheap tastes get titillated by cheap stories. That’s Manohara.”

The prince has been reported to want Manohara badly and will do everything he can to get her back.
“I have never seen a man so obsessed with a woman,” says Dato Kadar Shah, who was asked by government officials to help solve the matter. “The people in his province also love her. They view her like Princess Diana. He needs her back for his credibility.”
